As a Maine wedding planner, The Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine, is one of our favorite Maine venues for weddings, and it’s easy to see why. With breathtaking views of Penobscot Bay and the Breakwater Lighthouse, and with 230-acres of oceanfront property, steeped rich in history, it provides wedding couples with idyllic coastal Maine scenery.

Why do we love the Samoset Resort… It’s the perfect location for a Maine destination wedding, and for making the most of your celebratory wedding weekend! Whether you are envisioning an outdoor ceremony by Maine’s rocky coastline with a lighthouse in the backdrop or dancing the night away in a grand ballroom, the Samoset offers a number of locations to accommodate 10 guests or 300. The Opal Collection AAA four-diamond Samoset Resort, is able to house all of your guests, which I personally love! To me, wedding weekends are about maximizing the time you spend with your favorite people, and being under one roof makes it easier for camaraderie. You can arrange lawn games by the pool or lounge in the sun enjoying an afternoon libation while overlooking Penobscot Bay. Relax and indulge in a spa package with your bridal party or round up the ladies and gents to play 18-holes of golf on what is referred to as “The Pebble Beach of the East,” and if that’s not your type of golf, there’s also a disc golf course set up on the south lawn. This picturesque setting is the perfect place to host your guests and celebrate your love.
